How Appetite
Suppressants Work

Let us start with what an appetite suppressant is. An appetite
suppressant is anything that slows or stops your hunger. The
time it takes to do this varies widely. Most commonly they are
found in the form of weight loss pills.

There are two major types or categories if you will of appetite
suppressants. They are the kind that suppresses appetite
physically and the type that do it chemically. Both kinds can be
effective, but the latter is more common. Most
weight loss
pills
prefer to use the technological advancements of chemical
induced appetite suppression. Let’s take a look at each type…

Stopping hunger on a physical level
Appetite suppressants that apply this method are hard to come
by. It is actually quite simple and works just the way it sounds.
To physically stop hunger you must fill the belly. Some
weight
loss pills
use ingredients that swell up in the once ingested.

Another approach is to use ingredients that not only swell up,
but also remain in the stomach for lengthened period of time.
They do this with elements that are harder to digest. In short,
taking this type weight loss pills are filled with agents that will fill
you up physically and keep you full,

Stopping hunger on a chemical level
This is a more sophisticated way to prevent hunger and a little
more complicated to explain. It is the choice of many
prescription weight loss pills as well as “over the counter” weight
loss pills. One of the most sought after appetite suppressant is
“Hoodia Gordonii”.

Hoodia is a perfect example of an appetite suppressant the
works utilizing the chemical reaction method. For simplification
we will use it for our example. Once hoodia enters your system,
hoodia’s active ingredient (P57) goes to work much the same
as food does. When you consume food, it is turned into glucose
which in turn triggers the brain to produce that full feeling. But
when you consume hoodia, the hypothalamus is triggered the
same way, only about 10,000 times stronger!

Choosing an appetite suppressant
If you are considering an appetite suppressant for a weight loss
option, you should first speak with you doctor/health care
provider. It is important to insure it is a healthy choice for you
first. One should then consider how much weight they want to
lose and how fast they want to lose it. Also, one should decide if
they want a pure appetite suppressant or do they want weight
loss pill that includes an appetite suppressant and a fat
burner/blocker to increase the weight loss potential.
